Psychology, Wholistic Health Movements of the 80's, to its Seeker
Friendly, Mega Church appearance in the 90's, to its coming out in the
21st century as The New Spirituality. Its slick reinvention of "new
truth" shows itself off today as a new "Emerging" Christianity, a
Vintage, Ancient Future Movement that is supposedly taking us back to

MY STORY
For starters, I thought the goal was:
* strive for excellence
* fight for success
* make money
* be someone my family can
be proud of
* prove to everyone that they
were wrong about me
* it's normal to be unhappy
* and last but not least, show
everyone I got it all under
control.
Yet being afraid to cry, forcing that smile and pretending I'm okay became my profession.
Why did I keep doing it?
I've come so close to success so many times that I thought it's just a matter of time before I figure it all out.
During the process of my fight for success, I've made many mistakes which made me feel defeated. As misery consumed my mind, I attended as many motivational seminars as possible hoping I can find that one thing to change my life.
Even though the information sounded great, I couldn't figure out how to apply it in my life because I had so many problems. I'm not talking baby size problems, I'm talking monster size problems like being broke and single with 3 children with no help, depression, obesity, attempted suicide, physically abused, mentally abused, betrayed by loved ones, denied by my church, and I was very sensitive being consumed with fear and living life daily on an emotional roller coaster, need I say more.
Here's the good news! I did eventually figure it out.
It wasn't until I walked into a Bible based church where I was introduced into having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and the Word of God. As I began to read what the Bible says, I began to compare it to what the motivational world says. To my discovery, life has never been the same.
